Good controversy surrounded O’Brien leaving "The Tonight Show" earlier this year. Supporters, dubbing themselves "Team Coco," poured out their support. There had been also networking sniping at Leno for interfering with his successor unfairly. It did not take long to discover a new job for him. TBS debuts Conan O'Brien
Conan O' Brien left "The Tonight Show" this past January, leaving lots of people questioning what he had been going to do next. It has been common knowledge since April that he would be pushing back the George Lopez Show for a spot on TBS. TBS decided the title of his new show would be nothing more than, "Conan." Since then, promotional spots are continuously running, and fans are patiently waiting for the first episode. CNN puts this new show airing at 11 p.m. on Nov 8. Don't forget that shows play at different times and different channels across the U.S. so make sure you check your local listings.
Controversy between O'Brien and Leno isn't over yet
Conan O'Brien was passed "The Tonight Show" from Leno back in June of '09. The "Jay Leno Show" didn't fare as well as he had hoped and had been slowly dying. Rumor has it that the reason he left Tonight Show as that his time slot was getting knocked back an hour to give Leno a better time slot. Why is there such a time gap for his new show and leaving his last? Supposedly it is because he had to wait 6-months before he could appear regularly on any other TV show.
Wait no more
There has been a lot of hype over the debut of “Conan,” and hopefully it will live up to it. Conan O’Brien maintains a rabid following, and “Team Coco” has been waiting since January.
