Cassidy caught driving under the influence

Cassidy, former star of "The Partridge Family," has been imprisoned and charged with driving drunk. The Florida Highway Patrol halted him and administered a field sobriety test and breath assessments. He had almost twice the lawful limit in blood alcohol level assessments. Cassidy retains his innocence and is vowing to battle the allegations.

David Cassidy collared for drunk driving

David Cassidy, known as teen idol and former "The Partridge Family" TV series star had been arrested. The cop pulling him over though he might have been driving under the influence. That's why he got pulled over. He was pulled over by a Florida Highway Patrol officer. This had been because he had been swerving via the lanes, reports CBS. He had been asked to take a sobriety test. He failed it though. He also took two Breathalyzer tests, and his breath analysis revealed a blood alcohol level of 0.139 and 0.141, which is alleged to mean an improper analysis. The officer on the DUI case searched David Cassidy's Mercedes. A half empty bottle of bourbon had been found. He’s certainly no Paris Hilton, but the evidence doesn’t seem to lean Cassidy’s way.

Admitting to just a little bit from Cassidy

Cassidy said that he had one glass of wine with his midday meal when at a funeral. He also admitted that he took one hydrocodone afterward. Cassidy insisted that he had not drank other things alcoholic besides the glass of wine between lunch and his arrest late Wednesday evening. He posted $350 bail, and was released early on Nov. 4. After being Keith Partridge in "The Partridge Family" series, Cassidy was a teen pop star well known. Seems like numerous child stars have had drinking difficulties within the past. In fact, Danny Bonaduce had problems as the "Partridge Family" co-star.

Saying he will fight it in court

The representatives of David Cassidy say he will fight the charges. He would not be the first child star to have substance abuse troubles should he be convicted.
