Marine Corps Museum gets another volley from Pentagon shooter

Bullet holes were found at the Marine Corps Museum in Quantico, Va., for the second time in two weeks on Friday. The exact same weapon used within the latest shooting has been tied to shots fired at the Pentagon and two other buildings associated with the Marine Corps. The route of the Marine Corps Marathon passes by the Pentagon on Sunday and officials plan a major boost in security for the event.

Marine Corps Museum had more bullet holes

More bullet holes were found on the exterior of the Marine Corps Museum in Virgina near Washington, D.C., Friday morning. The side of the building, facing Interstate 95, had the bullet holes in it, reports CNN. The FBI said the shots were likely fired from the interstate sometime in the middle of the night. The building didn't have any person in it when the shots were shot. This meant nobody had been hurt. The shooting Thursday night is the second time in less than two weeks somebody has shot at the Marine Corps museum. Shots were fired at the Pentagon and a nearby Marine Corps recruiting station. The FBI connected those shooting with a shooting that happened two weeks ago at the museum.

The Pentagon shooter on a path

The military buildings near Washington are shot lately beginning with an attack on the Marine Corps Museum on October 17. Police and FBI had to start investigating the Pentagon just two days later. This was because two windows were shattered with six shots from a shooting. Following the third shooting at the Marine Corps recruiting station, authorities said all three incidents have been tied to the very same high-powered rifle. The attacks have left no suspects to be looked for. Also, nobody has been hurt in any attacks.

Marine Corps Marathon makes security better

The FBI desperately wants to find the shooter. They have asked this person to surrender. The Marine Corps, not the whole military, must be what the shooter has a problem with, MSNBC reports John Perrin, FBI Washington special agent, saying. Whoever the shooter is, they aren't trying to hurt any person. They've been doing everything specifically to avoid hurting people. Even so, the Pentagon said security may have a larger presence than normal during Sunday’s Marine Corps marathon. The Defense Department's headquarters could have 30,000 marathon runners going by it.
