The two huge green car releases for this year are the Nissan Leaf and the Chevy Volt. The Leaf is the more exciting of the two, as it is an all electric car. By December of 2010, both automobiles can be at a dealership perhaps near you. The business began taking advance orders, but instead of only moving a fraction from the inventory, all advance order slots for a Nissan Leaf have filled up. That all being said, the Leaf is only being launched in five states initially. Source of article – Nissan Leaf almost sold out it debuts by Car Deal Expert.
Very first run of Nissan Leaf sold out
The Nissan Leaf is kind of a large deal. It is the first completely electric automobile from a major automaker. Each other green vehicle offered by a major vehicle maker is a hybrid. Toyota Motors, Honda, etc., are all devoid of all electric models. According to the NY Times, Nissan offered consumers the chance to reserve an auto in advance. That was in April. Nissan has put out a demonstration test fleet. The goal was to spread word of mouth, and get the reservations full by December. That will apparently not be necessary. The goal was for 20,000 reservations by December, which has presently happened. The goal was met a full three months ahead of schedule.
Leaf no stone unturned
It isn’t rocket science to boost demand ahead of release. Nissan is presently touring with a demonstration Leaf or two around the country, but at this point it seems almost unnecessary. There are already 20,000 reservations, and the vehicle comes available in December. Initially, the Leaf will be available only in Washington state, Oregon, California, Arizona, and Tennessee. The very next month, two more states get them. The cars go to Texas and Hawaii after the initial launch. By the end of 2011, the Leaf could be accessible everywhere.
Cannot leaf this opportunity alone
There is no use in denying it. Hybrids and electric cars are what can be the way from the future. The supply of oil on the Earth will eventually run out. Eventually, cars like the Leaf will be the rule, and not the exception.
