Infamous lawman Arpaio on trial by the Justice Department

The state, The Grand Canyon State continues to be the center of lots of debate through recent years. Governor Jan Brewer decried SB1070, the law allowing officials to verify immigration status of everybody they come into contact with, which the Obama administration has questioned with constitutional grounds, although it is nevertheless unsettled. The Justice Department decided to such Joe Arpaio, Sheriff of Maricopa County. This just heats up the battle between Arizona and also the federal government. Joe Arpaio allegedly didn’t cooperate in a civil rights abuse investigation, says the Department of Justice.

Sheriff Joe supposedly discriminated

The Justice Department requested documentation on these sweeps from Sheriff Arpaio, which he was loathe to comply with. Federal investigators weren’t given the material requested. There weren’t even allowed to the building.

Lawsuits are the norm

His jail is called Tent City and has tents in the desert with high fences with barbed wire around it, and several have sued him for family dying in this jail. ABC explains that an investigation because of corruption is being done by the grand jury for Sheriff Arpaio and also the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
