Starting in 1955, the agency that would become NORAD started tracking the flight of Santa Claus. There was a misprinted phone number printed by a Sears’ department store. The phone number was supposed to allow kids to "talk to Santa" on Christmas Eve. The Continental Air Defense office was where the phone actually went to. The "current location" of Santa Claus was given to the children.
